In 2016, I had the privilege of collaborating with film director Alberto Arvelo for the second time on a remarkable project. Together, we embarked on an ambitious venture with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, under the guidance of conductor Gustavo Dudamel. The experience was once again extraordinary.
Our mission was to visually interpret the narrative of Haydn's 'The Creation' for an upcoming winter concert at the breathtaking Walt Disney Concert Hall, a masterpiece in itself by architect Frank Gehry.
Our canvas, the mesmerizing architecture of the concert hall, became the backdrop for a unique storytelling experience. From chaos to order, and from the celestial realms to the dawn of humankind, our goal was to craft a fresh, personal, and emotionally resonant representation of Haydn's masterpiece. We aimed to delve into the profound themes of humanity's existence on this planet and in the vast universe, fostering introspection and meaning.
« With texts drawn from the Bible and John Milton’s poetry, Haydn’s timeless masterpiece is a monumental yet delightful vision of God creating the world, bursting with imagination, wit and beauty. »

To achieve this, we embraced a diverse range of animation styles, each thoughtfully chosen to articulate the distinct stages of creation. Leveraging the distinctive design of the concert hall, we utilized four 4K projectors strategically positioned to cast immersive visuals on the ceiling, side walls, and front wall. The result was an unforgettable experience for the audience, seamlessly blending art and music.
